Fender Telecaster Guitar
Fender was not the first to manufacture electric guitars. Several, other companies produced electric guitars since the late 1920s but none of them were as commercially successful as Fender. Fender created versatile solid-body electric guitars while nearly all the other electric guitars being manufactured at the time were either hollow-body guitars or more specialized instruments such as Rickenbacker's solid-body Hawaiian guitars. Fender guitars were and still are very popular with musicians in a variety of genres and the vintage Fender Telecaster is highly sought after.
Fender offered the first mass-produced solid-body Spanish-style electric guitar, the Telecaster. The Telecaster has was originally named the 'Broadcaster'. The Fender 'Precision Bass' or 'P-Bass' was the first mass produced electric bass. They manufactured a single pickup version called the 'Esquire'. Fender also manufactures the popular Stratocaster electric guitar. Fender guitars were and still are very popular with musicians in a variety of genres.
The Fender company also makes acoustic guitars, electric basses, mandolins, banjos, and violins, as well as guitar amplifiers, bass amplifiers, and even PA or public address equipment.
Other Fender instruments include the Mustang, Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Starcaster, Duo-sonic, and Bronco guitars. Fender bass models include the Jazz Bass and the 'Telecaster Bass' which is a reissue of the original 1950s Precision Bass. Fender also has a line of lap steels; three models of electric violins, and the Fender Rhodes electric piano.
